Website and Social Media Workshop

Introduction to social media, marketing and running your website is a workshop open to all non profits in Surrey from our Surrey County Council colleagues, which will cover the following during individual sessions:

  • Introduction to Social Media and Marketing – How should I use Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and everything else?
  • Introduction to running a website – Where do I start, what should I think about?
  • Introduction to web writing – Why should I write differently online?
  • My website is live, what do I do now – Who is visiting my website? What do they look at? What do they like or dislike? When should I make changes?

Open panel discussion with all presenters where we can answer submitted questions or take questions from the floor.

Groups can drop in to any session above they like or stay for the whole day. If you are staying all day please book a ticket for each session.

    This one day free fundraising course for non profit organisations concentrates on structuring and composing applications for grants and trusts (national and local) and will cover the following:

    • Getting your message/ask right
    • Finding the appropriate funder for your project
    • What information should be in your application
    • Writing a fundraising strategy
    • Keeping your funder happy

    Volunteering can be a great way of meeting new people, having fun and improve your health. During Living Well in Runnymede week we would love you to visit our offices in Chertsey and talk to us about becoming a volunteer.

    There is really a role for everyone and volunteering will help you to get out and about in your community doing great things for yourself and your neighbours.

    Every year we organise 2 inclusive volunteering events to involve groups of local businesses who donate their time to make a difference to the local community. Our mission is to inspire volunteers to 'get up, get going and get active'.

    MADD is an important date in our volunteering calendar. It’s a chance for employees of local businesses volunteer as a team and make a difference to the communities of Runnymede, Spelthorne and Surrey Heath.

    Local not for profit organisations and charities are invited to join the staff of Voluntary Support North Surrey at our #ThursdayThoughts networking event. This is an opportunity to get together with other groups, share experiences and learn from one another.

    You'll be able to meet with members of the VSNS team and understand the support we can offer you.  It’s also an opportunity for local issues to be discussed and events to be promoted.

    We'd like to make this a regular event to encourage stronger shared working in our local community.

    This one day free fundraising course for non profit organisations concentrates on the increasing importance of using digital in all it's forms to raise funds for your charity. During the day we will cover the following:

    • What is digital fundraising and how will it benefit my fundraising?
    • What are the digital fundraising tools available to me?
    • How do I get started?

    This one-day course covers the basics for developing a successful volunteer programme.

    The course includes interaction and practical activities to allow participants to practise the skills needed to manage volunteers.
