Supporting your organisation through the cost of living crisis

Many organisations are increasingly worried about the increased costs they are facing as winter approaches.

Having a strategy for how your organisation is going to manage rising costs is essential. Voluntary Support North Surrey can support you in a number of ways – whether as a critical friend or to help you find funding that could boost your income.

There are also resources online to help you. Here are a few places to try to start you off:

Debra Alcock Tyler, CEO of the Directory for Social Change, urges charities to take action

The Directory for Social Change is also running a free event on 27th September to discuss what charities can do to get through the crisis

NCVO has a free webinar on 13th October looking at how organisations can support and retain staff through the cost of living crisis. They have also put together some helpful links on their website.

The Charity Excellence Framework has compiled a series of toolkits to support you and your board with developing a crisis strategy, including financial planning, cost reduction and fundraising

ACEVO (Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations) has put together some resources to support leaders

Leading an organisation can be lonely – but you are not alone. Others are facing the same challenges as you. Lean on your board. Reach out to others. Our next Charity Networking event is on 20th October at Enterprise’s offices in Egham. Come along, support and be supported by others – we would love to see you there.
