Well done to everyone from Surrey County Council’s Learning Disabilities and Autism Team who went out at the end of August to help set up the showground for Egham Royal Show. It turned out not only to be hugely productive but also great fun.
The Egham Royal Show committee were so impressed with their efforts, the team were offered free tickets to the main event, with the show committee saying, “We want to say a huge thank you to the team from SCC who helped us. They were great company, cheerful and willing, and made a big difference to our preparations.”
Carer Practice Advisor Melanie Randall at SCC who helped arrange the day said, “We all came away saying how much we enjoyed our day and the great company.” In fact, the day was such a success, they are already starting to explore their next volunteering day for later this year.
