NCT Sunbury, Shepperton and Chertsey Branch (SP)
Bumps and Babes is a weekly drop-in service open to all expectant and new parents/carers. It is run by local NCT practitioners who facilitate 'Parent Space' discussions during the 90 minute meet-up.
The main aim is to provide a safe and welcoming space to support their transition to parenthood and to nurture a community of peer support.
Volunteer help is needed to help provide refreshments and with the set-up and tidying away of the baby mats and toys.
No particular skills are required for this role other than a friendly demeanour and an interest in pregnancy/babies/children. Having a positive, non-judgemental attitude and an understanding of the challenges of the early days of parenthood are desired.
The most important part of the role is to help create a welcoming environment and provide refreshments for our guests.
Commitment is 2 hours a week. The group meets on a Thursday 1.15 - 2.45pm
