SSAFA the Armed Forces Charity
Support Veterans in Need – SSAFA Caseworker & Visitor (VSNS)
Join SSAFA – The Armed Forces Charity as a Caseworker/Visitor, and help ex-Service personnel and their families during times of difficulty. Whether they’re lonely, disabled, or recently discharged, your support can make a real and lasting difference in their lives.
What you’ll do:
• Visit clients in their homes to assess needs and eligibility
• Liaise with local authorities, charities, and service organisations
• Help connect clients with the right support to improve mobility, independence, and wellbeing
Why volunteer?
• Enjoy high personal satisfaction
• Fit around your other interests – casework is sporadic and flexible
• Be part of a supportive volunteer team with full backing from SSAFA
Make a difference to those who served – become a lifeline when it matters most.
What you need:
• A mature, empathetic approach
• Initiative, common sense and a willingness to help others
• Use of your own car is desirable
• No Forces background is necessary – just a caring heart
• DBS check may be required
