You are invited to lead Holme Farm Community Workshop & Gardens in its next phase of development to improve the services and environment we offer to our community, our volunteers, clients and visitors. This role will provide overall leadership to enact the responsibilities of the board. The Chairperson will be expected to discharge the behaviours and values of the organisation.

What skills do I need?

  • Visionary Leader: Passionate about improving the provision of facilities and services to impact community access to wellbeing and shared activities
  • Team Builder: Confident in managing an effective team, leading others through active delegation, negotiation and conflict resolution to achieve the objectives and mission.
  • Governance Experience: Demonstrate and provide Senior leadership accountability, experience, ideally in the charity sector and/or in related health, social and community services areas.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: Ability to inspire and build relationships with diverse stakeholders. It is expected the candidate would attend Holme Farm regularly to meet leaders, volunteers and other partner organisations.
  • Commitment & Dedication: Demonstrate through contribution a strong commitment to Holme Farms purpose, mission and values. Minimum time commitment is estimated at 8-12 hours per month, but subject to requirements.
  • Strategic Thinker: Capable of guiding the charity through challenges with clear, actionable strategies.
  • Demonstrable experience and professional competence in managing effective financial controls at a similar charity, or commercial business.
  • Demonstrate leadership in building maturity and propriety in an organisation, reflected in its operational and strategic decisions.
