To help raise awareness and funds by establishing and managing charity collection pots within the local community. This includes collecting, and replacing donation pots in approved locations and feeding back to the charity team if any new locations would like to be added to the distribution list.

Key responsibilities

  • Building external relationships: Identify and approach businesses willing to host a Surrey & Sussex Healthcare Charity collection pot. Maintain a friendly, professional relationship with businesses and keep them informed of the charity’s work.
  • Monitoring collection pots: Ensure pots are clean, sealed, secure and clearly labelled. Distribute and replenish Surrey & Sussex Healthcare Charity collection pots within the local community. Collection pots must be handed into the cashier’s office (located by the East Entrance). The cashier’s office closes at 2pm, please ensure collection pots are handed in promptly before this time.
  • Feedback and reporting: Help to maintain an accurate distribution list by informing the fundraising officer of any changes and the quantity of collection pots collected at each location.
  • Promoting the charity: Build positive relationships with hospital staff, volunteers, and community members and inform teams they can be included in the next collection pot distribution list.

• Passionate about community engagement and charitable causes.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to engage with diverse groups of people in a friendly and professional manner.

• Reliable, trustworthy, punctual, and committed to volunteer responsibilities.

• Confident in approaching and speaking with local business owners.

• Organised, with the ability to follow agreed collection schedules between yourself and the host(s) of our collection pots.
