Looking Ahead (SH)
Be a Braille Class Assistant and Make a Real Impact
Join a friendly, rewarding weekly session every Friday from 10am–12pm at St John’s Church in Windlesham, supporting visually impaired adults as they build confidence and new skills. You’ll assist learners with Braille, touch typing, and using tablets, laptops, and smartphones—helping them stay connected and independent.
You don’t need to be an expert—just a patient, positive person with good communication skills and a willingness to learn. You’ll even have the opportunity to learn Braille yourself and support others as they progress.
This role can be life-changing for those with sight loss, empowering them for employment, voluntary roles, and greater independence.
Volunteers should be friendly and approachable, with clear communication skills and patience. An interest in technology or alternative communication methods is helpful—but not essential if you're open to learning.
