Spelthorne ParaSports Club (SPSC)
Volunteers are needed to help with the running of Spelthorne Parasports club, held at the Staines Leisure Centre on Saturday mornings. The club is for young people aged between 5 and 25 years with special needs and their siblings.
Volunteers will be required to act as 'buddies' for the young people to encourage them to try a number of different sports and sport related activities. 'Buddies' ensure that the young people have a good time, joining in with and supervising activities as required, while ensuring a safe environment for the young people.
The roles are open to anyone from aged 15 onwards. All volunteers over 16 will need to have a Criminal Record Bureau check, which can be done free of charge through the Council. References will be needed for volunteers of all ages.
No special qualifications are required; we are looking for reliable people who have plenty of enthusiasm and the ability to communicate well with a range of people. A willingness to have fun is important and any ladies out there interested in sport would be particularly welcome.
