The Cinnamon Trust (VSNS)
“Peace of mind and practical help for people – love, care and safety for their pets”
At The Cinnamon Trust, we value the special bond between people and their pets, and have been supporting owners for over 40 years. We’re the only national charity helping older people and those terminally ill care for their pets; while also helping any worried owner plan for their pet’s lifelong care — always in a loving home, never in kennels or catteries.
With the help of over 20,000 compassionate volunteers nationwide, we provide:
Our practical help protects the precious bond between people and their pets, helping share love, comfort, and companionship for as long as possible.
Forever Care Reimagined
If you don’t have someone close who could care for your pet in the future, our Pet Profiling service offers lasting peace of mind.
We make a lifelong promise that every pet — no matter their age or health — will always be loved and cared for. We welcome all pets including sheep, ducks, cows etc. You love them, so will we!
Making lifelong arrangements for your pet
To begin the process, owners complete our Pet Profiling application, sharing important details about their companion. The questions cover everything from daily routines and medical needs to favourite toys, diet, and even nicknames. This helps us get to know each pet’s unique personality and ensures that, should an owner move into nursing care or pass away, we make this transition as gentle and familiar as possible for their beloved companion.
All Cinnamon Pets are cared for with the utmost dedication, either by carefully choosing a new forever foster home that suits their needs or, if more appropriate, by welcoming them into one of our two home-from-home sanctuaries.
Our Forever Fosterers have the ongoing support of a dedicated team, with all vet bills and specialist diets fully covered for life, reassuring you that your companion will always be looked after at the highest standard.
Dog Walkers and short term fosterers are urgently needed.
Do you like animals? Want to help them and their elderly or terminally ill owners have a better life? Then we need you.
We are looking for people to walk dogs, transport pets to the vets for owners who may be unable to take their pet themselves. Also for owners who are unable to care for their pets on a day to day basis.
To foster pets in the volunteers own home when owners are hospitalised as well as long term care of bereaved pets where owners have requested this.
We are an Approved Activity Provider (AAP) for volunteering and have been approved for the DofE and meet their section conditions. Volunteering with the Cinnamon Trust can count towards the achievement of a DofE award.
We are looking for volunteers who are caring, understanding, have empathy and a love of animals.
