Care in Walton and Hersham (CSVA)
Residents of Walton-on-Thames and Hersham who are unable to use public transport and are not eligible for hospital transport, can ring us for help.
Our Volunteer Drivers will take them to medical appointments at Health Centres and hospitals, dental appointments in the area, and chiropody appointments at Day Centres, and will collect occasional emergency prescriptions and shopping.
To continue this work, which has been in operation since 1988, the group desperately needs
VOLUNTEER DRIVERS!
It is not an onerous task, and many of our Volunteers help for just an hour or two each week.
No regular commitment is required we do not ask you to be available on any particular day and there is absolutely no obligation to accept a 'job' when the Duty Officer rings you.
You will not be asked to help anyone with an acute illness or disability, though some may need a little assistance getting into the car. You will be informed of any such circumstances beforehand.
Clean driving licence. Pleasant and helpful.
