We are looking for people to become regular volunteers cooking for the guests at our Drop-In day centre in Redhill.

Our daytime Drop-In is open to any adult 6 days a week. Around two-thirds of them are homeless. It provides them with a non-judgmental environment and a community in which they can be themselves and enjoy a two-course meal from ingredients supplied by Renewed Hope.

Kitchen roles - 10.45am to 3.30pm weekdays; 11.45-1.45pm Saturdays and bank holidays

  • Drop-In Kitchen Supervisor - taking a lead in the kitchen preparing a hot lunch and dessert for up to 10-20 people with help from a Kitchen Assistant using items donated to Renewed Hope (we prepare a menu beforehand).
  • Drop-In Kitchen Assistant - working with the supervisor in helping to prepare food, keeping areas clean and serving the meal

The kitchen roles are supported by a Drop-In Leader and a Drop-In Assistant. During the week a member of staff is always on site. There is a 1.5 hour session on a Saturday and bank holidays where someone is on call. The Drop-In Leader manages the session, the volunteers and supports the guests while the Drop-In Assistant helps out with any necessary tasks, including making drinks.

All volunteers come together at the end to clean the surfaces down ready for the following day as well as preparing lunch.
