Care in Weybridge (CSVA)
CARE in Weybridge runs a team of volunteer drivers who drive mainly elderly people to doctors, hospital appointments, shopping etc.
Every weekday a duty officer receives phone calls and finds a driver to carry out each request, averaging 5 a day.
The Duty Officer is at the centre of CARE’s operation. Some Duty Officers also drive, some do only the Duty Officer role. Either way, you will be fully trained and supported in the job.
You work from your own home, taking client calls on our mobile phone, between 9am and 12pm. You then post the jobs on WhatsApp to find volunteer drivers who are free to take the callers to their appointments. Records are kept on our computer system, which is easily accessible on your home laptop, desktop or tablet. .
You will find that some days are busy and some are much quieter. Most of our Duty Officers find the role both stimulating and enjoyable, as well as being easy to fit into their otherwise busy lives. It's also extremely flexible. You just sign up on a rota for as many mornings as you wish. There's no minimum commitment. Most Duty Officers do one or two mornings a month.
Friendly. Ability to record and give accurate information re addresses etc. Good telephone manner. Familiarity with computers and WhatsApp.

You work from your own home, taking client calls on our mobile phone, between 9am and 12pm. You can add your name to the Duty Officers’ rota to suit your diary – once a week, once a month or whatever you are able to fit in - there's no minimum commitment.
