Spelthorne Volunteer Drivers (SP)
Do you have some spare time and would like to help others in the community without leaving home?
You
could be a Duty Officer for Spelthorne Volunteer Drivers, a
local charity which takes elderly and/or disabled people to medical appointments.
You will hold our mobile phone for 1 week in 5 between 10am and 12 noon, Monday – Friday, to take calls from people needing a lift to the GP, hospital, opticians, podiatrist etc.
Then you need to phone the pool of volunteer drivers to arrange the pick-ups, which can be done at any time of day.
It is a rewarding and satisfying role, if you would like to be part of the team please apply now.
Volunteers should have a good telephone manner, be patient and discreet, and be able to keep accurate records.
Please note that volunteers must live in the Spelthorne Borough or in very close proximity.

The duty is from 10-12 on weekdays (although you may have to do the actual booking outside these hours) and can be arranged to be mutually convenient, although being available for a whole week at a time would be ideal!
