Join a Local Fundraising Group and Help Change Lives Affected by Cancer

Do you want to make a real difference in your local community? Join Macmillan Cancer Support’s Camberley Fundraising Group and help us continue being one of the most trusted and recognised charities in Camberley and the wider Surrey Heath area.

As a Fundraising Group Member, you’ll play an essential role in helping us raise vital funds to support people living with cancer. You’ll work alongside a friendly team of local volunteers to organise community events, build awareness, and encourage donations that enable Macmillan to continue its life-changing work.

Whether you can spare a few hours a month or more regularly, your time and passion can make a huge impact.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting or leading community fundraising events and activities

  • Helping manage local donations and liaising with local supporters

  • Raising awareness of Macmillan’s services in your area

  • Building links with businesses, schools, or local groups

  • Attending occasional meetings with your fellow fundraising group members

You’ll be supported by your local Macmillan Fundraising Manager, who will provide guidance, materials and plenty of encouragement every step of the way.

About Macmillan Cancer Support

Macmillan improves the lives of people affected by cancer by offering medical, emotional, financial and practical support. From funding nurses and building cancer centres, to giving carers a break or providing grants for heating bills — we support patients, families, and communities at every stage of their journey.

What skills do I need?

Whether you’re experienced in fundraising or simply passionate about making a difference, you’ll gain and grow key skills in this role, including:

  • Communication – engaging confidently with members of the public and other volunteers

  • Teamwork – working as part of a committed, supportive local group

  • Organisation and planning – helping to coordinate events and fundraising logistics

  • Basic numeracy or admin – useful if helping with donations or local accounts

  • Community engagement – becoming an ambassador for Macmillan in your area

  • Enthusiasm and creativity – coming up with ideas for events or fundraising initiatives

This is a flexible role and no specialist experience is required — just your time, energy, and commitment.
