Fundraising volunteer (SH)

We are currently seeking a Volunteer to help with fundraising, to help generate income through statutory agencies and grant making trusts and foundations to support the activities of Home-Start Surrey Heath.

The Organisation:Home-Start Surrey Heath is part of the consortium of 10 separate Home-Start schemes in Surrey working in partnership to deliver the common aim of providing a volunteer home visiting service to families with young children who are experiencing stress.

The volunteer would work closely with the Scheme Manager and board of trustees to compile a portfolio of existing funders/donors and to identify future funding needs.

Research funding opportunities, criteria and time-lines for applications.

Plan and complete and submit applications to appropriate funders and pursue tenders/contracts.

Network and develop relationships with funders including statutory bodies, charitable trusts and foundations.

Work with scheme manager and board of trustees to develop and implement a fundraising strategy.

Maintain full records of all applications and communication from funders in electronic and paper form.

Report back the outcome of applications and performance against targets to the scheme manager/trustees.

Liaise with the fundraising committee promoting their events and giving support to anyone who wishes to carry out a fundraising event on our behalf.

Maintain confidentiality of our service users in line with the Home-Start Data Protection and Confidentiality Policy.

What skills do I need?

The volunteer should ideally have experience of bid writing and be able to work flexibly.
