Help a Garden Grow – Volunteer with Catalyst Support in Woking

Do you enjoy being outdoors, getting your hands dirty, and watching something flourish over time? Join Catalyst Support as a Gardening Volunteer in Woking, where you’ll be part of a brand-new project helping to create and maintain a welcoming green space for wellbeing and community connection.

Whether you're an experienced gardener or just keen to learn, this is a great way to give back, relax, and connect with nature.

What you’ll be doing:

This hands-on role offers a variety of tasks based on your interests and the season:

  • Repairing and maintaining raised beds and compost bins

  • Clearing, weeding, planting, and sowing herbs, vegetables, and flowers

  • Helping design and prepare wildlife-friendly features like bug hotels, bee boxes, and log piles

  • Supporting with general site maintenance and improvements

  • Sharing ideas and helping a new garden space grow into a vibrant, welcoming area

The project is just getting started – so your help will really make a visible difference!

What skills do I need?

Skills and qualities you’ll use or develop

This role is perfect for anyone with an interest in gardening, nature or even outdoor arts and crafts. You don’t need to be an expert – just bring enthusiasm and a willingness to get stuck in. You’ll develop or apply skills like:

  • Basic gardening and planting knowledge

  • Creativity in outdoor design or habitat-building

  • Teamwork and collaboration

  • Light DIY or repair skills (optional)

  • Awareness of nature, wildlife, and seasonal tasks

We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds – whether you're looking for a wellbeing boost, want to learn something new, or just enjoy being outdoors with others.
