Community Library Volunteer

New Haw Community Library are keen to strengthen the service they offer and broaden the skills of their current management group. They are looking for enthusiastic new volunteers to support across a range of areas, with plenty of opportunities to support in a flexible way to fit around your other commitments.

IT – the team are looking for someone with solid IT skills and time available to support library users with their IT questions or alternatively someone who could help the management team keep their systems and skills up to date.

Business support – do you have experience managing bookings? The library are looking for someone to manage bookings for the library rooms – monitoring and responding to enquiries, showing people around the space, issuing invoices and tracking payments. 

Communication and events - now that the library is open again, they are looking to raise their profile within the community – publicising events, preparing circulars and working with other local groups. If you have solid communication skills and experience, this could offer a flexible role where you can make a real difference. 

What skills do I need?

Regardless of the role you take, enthusiasm and a genuine willingness to support is key. Any of the skills listed below would be a bonus:

• Solid IT skills and experience with websites and a range of software
• Events managements and communication skills
  
• Social media experience
