The Sunnybank Trust is a vibrant community charity that believes that people with learning disabilities should be able to live without prejudice and have confidence, opportunities, and control over their own lives.

Role specification

The charity is currently under resourced with IT and data base knowledge, so this voluntary role is an important one. The volunteer will support the staff team (some of whom have learning disabilities) with data extraction, reporting, data entry and problem solving.

The volunteer will work with the Administrator and support on developing ways to pull accurate information required for monthly KPIs and for reports for trustees and funders.

The person should be able to look for missing information, identify data that is not up to date, or data that could be wrong (typos or doesn’t seem to fit) (anomalies) in data and request the needed information from the appropriate person.

What skills do I need?

Skills required

· Database experience to include data entry, data extraction and reporting. We use Lamplight but experience of any database collecting information about people (ie quite a bit of text and photos are important to our database). practical knowledge of Microsoft such as excel when exporting or importing data.

· The volunteer should be able to work with the different teams to understand their needs in terms of help with data entry and what information they need to be able to pull from the database.

· Understanding of the aims of the charity to be inclusive and supportive of the various communication and learning styles staff and volunteers have.

· To be able to add data from different teams to make sure the information is accurate and updated in a timely way.

· To respect the confidential and private nature of some of the data.

Person Specification

This could be the ideal role for you if you:

· have experience of working/or knowledge of a Learning Disability is desirable.

· have excellent communication skills.

· are good with people

· Be able to attend meetings when required online or face to face

· Understanding of GDPR

Induction, training and ongoing support will be given for all aspects of the role.

The nature of the post is such that the appointee will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and will be required to complete a short safeguarding training course.
