Football Matchday Volunteer Job Duties:

Matchday Operations Team:

  • Set-up and take-down - assist with setting up and taking down goals, corner flags and other matchday equipment
  • Pitch Preparation - ensure the pitch is in good condition and checking for any hazards

Stewarding and Crown Control:

  • Entrance Management - check tickets, manage entry points and ensure smooth flow of spectators into the stadium
  • Crown Safety - monitor spectator behaviour, provide directions and assist with any issues that arise to ensure a safe environment

Hospitality and Guest Services:

  • VIP and Hospitality areas - assist in preparing and serving refreshments to VIP's, sponsors and other special guests
  • Welcome Turnstile - provide information and assistance to spectators, including directions, seating information, and answering general inquiries

Concessions and Merchandise:

  • Food and Beverage Stands - help in preparing and selling food and drinks to spectators, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards
  • Merchandise Sales - assist in setting up and operating merchandise stalls, handling sales, and restocking items as needed

Team Support:

  • Player Liaison - assist with the needs of the players and coaching staff, including managing equipment and providing water and other essentials

Post-Match duties:

  • Clean-Up - assist with the post-match clean-up, including collecting litter, packing up equipment and ensuring the facility is left in good condition
  • Feedback collection - help collect feedback from spectators and volunteers to improve future matchday experiences

By fulfilling these duties, matchday volunteers play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and successful operation of football matches, contributing to a positive experience for players, spectators and staff.  Please note that this is only for HOME match days.  We have approximately 30 home games a year from July to May
