About the Library of Things

The Library of Things (LoT) is a community-led initiative that allows people to borrow useful items instead of buying them—helping to reduce waste, promote sustainability, and make everyday life more affordable. The project is run entirely by volunteers and relies on community support.

Our Library of Things will work as it does in the Godalming one set up in 2024 https://whatnext.earth/library-of-things/

What You will do

managing and maintaining the Library of Things' inventory. You’ll ensure that items are stored correctly, checked for damage, and repaired or replaced as needed. You’ll also keep track of which items are in use and ensure everything remains in good working order.

This role is ideal for someone who is organised, practical, and enjoys working behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly.

What’s in it for You?

· Be part of a meaningful community project that promotes sharing and sustainability.

· Use your organisational or DIY skills to make a tangible impact.

· Gain valuable experience in inventory management and community-led initiatives.

· Meet like-minded people and help create a resource that benefits everyone.

What skills do I need?

Skills & Experience (Desirable but Not Essential)

No formal qualifications are required, but the following skills would be helpful:

· Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

· An interest in fixing or maintaining items (e.g., basic DIY or repair skills).

· Enthusiasm for sustainability and community sharing initiatives.

Interested? We’d love to hear from you No CV needed — just get in touch with William emailing him any supportive information you feel might be helpful to [email protected] and he will be happy to explain more and answer any questions you might have
