Riding for the Disabled Association South East Region
The Regional Publicity Officer for the RDA South East Region is a voluntary position providing publicity support and direction across Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex.
This is an excellent opportunity to engage your communication skills and get involved with a great, supportive regional and national team at Riding for the Disabled.
You do not need to know anything about horses, riding or carriage driving, neither do you have to have experience of disability. You only need the desire to do something important that will change lives in a very real and positive way.
Roles of the Regional Publicity Officer:
• Using media and promotional tools as appropriate to publicise the work of RDA across the Region, using the local and regional press as well as social media
• Supporting individual groups on occasion in achieving good publicity for their successes
• Writing, co-ordinating, editing and liaising with the designer and printer to produce the Regional Annual Report
• Taking photographs at regional events for use with press reports and the Regional Annual Report magazine
• Preparing publicity report for, and attending quarterly regional committee meetings
• Liaising with sponsors to ensure the publicity efforts recognise their support
• Sharing good news from within the Region with RDA UK
• Working with RDA UK to take advantage of relevant publicity opportunities as they arise with local or national press or sponsors/supporters.
- Experience as a Public Relations Officer or similar would be helpful
- The ability to research, write and edit press releases and publications
- Excellent communication skills
- Ideally you would have social media management experience
- An interest in photography and familiarity with photo editing software would be a plus
