Shop Assistant

The Woking Community Furniture Project is a furniture re-use charity. We collect unwanted furniture & electrical items from the local community and supply these items to local people suffering hardship or on low incomes, also selling to members of the public.

About the role:

Shop assistants will report to the Shop Manager and will be responsible for front of house functions.  A good level of both spoken and written English is essential

• assisting customers in the selection/purchasing of items
• keeping merchandise orderly and neat
• ensuring store is orderly at all times
• pricing merchandise
• labelling goods that have arrived at the warehouse
• taking/making calls to arrange collection/delivery of goods
• occasionally loading unloading customers cars

• ability to work within a team
• ability to provide excellent customer service
• good telephone manner
  

Lunch is provided for volunteers, as well as sufficient training.  The Woking Community Furniture Project is an equal opportunities charity.
