To support our playgroup for 0-5 year olds by serving refreshments to parents and carers during term-time only.  Playgroup takes place on Tuesday mornings from 09:30-11:00, exact dates to be confirmed.

Role Overview:

If you wish to make a difference to the local community and society at large, we can provide a heart-warming opportunity for the right person.  Our volunteer-led charity is looking for friendly people to join our volunteer team to support our Oxted Sensory Play playgroup.  Currently, the playgroup can only run roughly monthly, due to a lack of volunteers.  We aspire to one day running our playgroup on a weekly basisdoing our bit to promote good mental health and tacklisolation.  Volunteers are welcome to come on a monthly rota basis or weekly, as best suits them.

If you are kind, non-judgemental, sociable and reliable, you could be:

  • Preparing fruit and serving refreshments to parents and carers
  • Helping in the main play room, talking to parents and carers, ensuring each attendee is warmly welcomed and included
  • Helping set up and/or tidying up

What you’ll gain by joining us:

If you love young children this one’s for you.  Seeing babies, toddlers and young children grow up over time, watching them learn and explore the world around them is fascinating.  Watching children learn to share, enjoy song-time and play in a supportive, non-judgemental environment is joyful.

Bring your warmth and kindness, and make a difference to other people's lives.  Know that your kindness has made someone else’s day that bit brighter.

There is no pressure to carry out tasks you don’t enjoy.  You will only be asked to do things you feel comfortable doing.

What skills do I need?

Who we’re looking for:

Kind, friendly, sociable people who are patient and sympathetic to the pressures of parenting. Someone who is able to approach a lone parent and make conversation or offer refreshments.
