1st Sunbury Scout Group
Being a Beaver Scout volunteer means supporting young children aged 6–8 as they explore, learn, and grow through fun activities, games, and outdoor adventures. Volunteers help plan and run weekly meetings, support trips and events, and encourage teamwork, creativity, and confidence in the Beavers. You’ll work as part of a friendly team to create a safe and positive environment where every child can take part, make friends, and try new things. Full training and guidance are provided by the Scouts.
You don’t need any special experience to get involved—just enthusiasm, patience, and a sense of fun. It helps if you enjoy working with kids, can work well with others, and don’t mind getting stuck in with different activities. Being reliable, friendly, and up for a laugh makes a big difference and helps create the fun, welcoming atmosphere that Beavers love.

Our weekly Beaver meetings are on Mondays during term time 6-7pm. There's occasional events and camps too, like summer camp and Remembrance Day Parade, along with training days and meetings. Much of our mandatory training is online, so flexible and easily accessible.
