What skills do I need?

We’re seeking volunteers who bring warmth, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in supporting young people. The ideal volunteer will have:

• Strong communication skills – able to listen well, chat comfortably, and connect with young people in a positive way.
  
• Reliability and consistency – regular attendance is essential for building trust and maintaining a safe, stable environment.
  
• A friendly and encouraging attitude – helping create a space where young people feel welcome and valued.
  
• Patience and empathy – recognising that every young person has their own experiences, challenges, and strengths.
  
• Good teamwork skills – willing to collaborate, communicate, and support fellow volunteers.
  
• Clear boundaries and professionalism – understanding the importance of safeguarding and appropriate behaviour.
  
• A sense of fun and enthusiasm – ready to help create an enjoyable, energising environment for everyone involved.
