Van Drivers

Working with a crew you will be responsible for the effective delivery and collection of furniture and appliances. You will be solely responsible for the van and your crew, you must be over 25 and have a full, current UK driving licence with a minimum of one year’s driving experience. You will also need to be fit and in good health and able to lift and carry heavy, sometimes awkward objects.

You could be involved in the following tasks in your Van Driver Role

• Check the van against the vehicle check list before the start of the round and arrange for a float to purchase diesel/oil if required.
• To collect the drop sheet from the office and ensure the round is completed using the best route and that all items are delivered and collected as per the drop sheet.
• Ensure the van is correctly loaded and the furniture is protected and secured
• To ensure all donated items comply with fire regulations and are in good condition
• Ensure all the correct paper work including gift-aid contributions are processed and any monies collected is stored safely and accounted for
• Responsible for the van and for the crew including arranging comfort breaks
• As dealing directly with the public you must be polite and courteous at all times
• To assist with loading and unloading the van

You will be provided with the following which will be left on site:

• Furnistore fleece/t-shirt
• Steel capped boots and gloves.

What skills do I need?

• A full clean drivers licence.
