Village Centre Treasurer

The Village Centre is a Methodist Church in Englefield Green that was converted into a community building, and is now an integral part of the Englefield Green community, offering as many community services as possible.

We are ready to welcome a new Treasurer to our small and dedicated team of trustees and duties include the following:

• day-to-day finance functions to include cashing up the takings in our community café
• cast an eye over the charity’s funds
• help ensure that robust and effective financial controls are in place
• help prepare the charity’s annual budget
• report on financial matters to the other trustees and charity’s members
• assist with planning for the future as we look to grow
• Dealing with Gift Aid payments
• Banking as and when necessary
• Working closely with the honorary treasurer at St Jude’s Church with whom we share a charity number.

It's a great role for someone local to the centre who is looking for a voluntary role offering a real sense of purpose and reward.

What skills do I need?

Accounting and budgeting skills required. We are looking for someone who is in full sympathy with the Christian foundation and ethos of the Centre and ideally someone local who is able to have regular contact with the Centre, its staff, volunteers and visitors,
