Volunteer Facebook Marketplace Assistant

We’re really excited to have launched our Facebook Marketplace shop and we’re looking for someone to help us as we branch out into this new arena of retail. At a time when online retail is vital to ensure the future of the hospice, your time can make a real difference to local people and their families. This role is to help generate income for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices by selling donations on Facebook Marketplace. You will carry out research into what items sell well on there to ensure we get the best possible price for donated goods.  No two days are the same! You will have the opportunity to learn all about online trading, customer service support and charity fundraising.

Research similar items online to ensure we list items for the fairest and best price Take good, clear photos of the items and list online with an accurate description of what is being sold. Clean and maintain items for sale. Ensure items are stored and arranged in an organised manner to ensure ease of distribution to customers. Greeting customers when they arrive to collect and pay for items.

What skills do I need?

Computer literateExperience of selling on Facebook Marketplace is desirable but not essential. Training can be given. You will not need to use your personal Facebook account for this role.Attention to detail is important to ensure listings are consistent and professionalHours for this role are flexible between 9.30am-4.30pm Monday to Friday. 4 + hours in the office each week is desirableHaving use of a car is desirable due to the location.
