Citizens Advice Surrey Heath (SH)
As a Volunteer Form Filler you will provide face to face support to assist people who need help to complete forms relating to disability and appeals. This is to ensure that they are able to provide a true and accurate representation of their circumstances in order to have the best chance of success in assessing appropriate benefits. you will receive full training and support to assess their needs and help them understand how to complete the forms as fully as possible.
What do you need to have?
You don’t need specific qualifications or skills but you’ll need to:
be friendly and approachable
be non-judgmental and respect views, values and cultures that are different to your own
have good listening skills
have excellent verbal and written communication skills
have good basic maths and IT skills
be able to understand information and summarise it
be willing to learn about and follow the Citizens Advice aims, principles and policies, including confidentiality and data protection
be willing to undertake training in your role
