Volunteer Gardener

Help Keep Our Garden Blooming!

Do you love being outdoors, enjoy gardening, and want to make a visible difference in your community? Manor Farm Day Centre in Runnymede is looking for a volunteer gardener to help maintain our small but much-loved patio garden.

This flexible and peaceful role is perfect for someone who enjoys “pottering” and can offer a few hours whenever suits them. In return, we’ll keep the tea flowing and make sure you feel right at home!

What you’ll be doing:

• Light weeding around planters and paved areas
  
• Caring for pots, raised beds and seasonal planting
  
• Sweeping paths and general tidying
  
• Wiping and cleaning outdoor furniture
  
• Painting or maintaining garden benches and features
  
• Helping keep our garden a safe, welcoming space for our members

There are no set days or times – we’re happy to work around your availability. Whether you can offer an hour a week or a few afternoons a month, your help will be appreciated.

What skills do I need?

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys low-key, independent outdoor work and finds satisfaction in keeping things neat, growing, and green. You’ll use or build on:

• Basic gardening and planting skills

• Light maintenance and outdoor cleaning

• Patience, care and attention to detail

• Physical activity – being active in fresh air

• Responsibility and independence

• A friendly attitude – our team loves a chat and a cuppa!

No professional gardening experience is required – just a love for green spaces and a willingness to lend a hand.
