Do you want to make a difference? Do you already have knowledge of a RYA or BCU Qualifications and want to advanced these to Instructor levels? Or would you like to learn new skills in order to pass on your knowledge? Then this opportunity is for you.

The Sea Cadets is a national organisation looking to give young people aged 10-18 years old a head start in life through nautical adventure and fun.

Camberley Sea Cadets needs General Waterborne Instructors to volunteer with them in delivering cadet training across Sailing, Kayaking, Windsurfing. If you have no experience in instructing, or no skills and would like to gain recognised qualifications then Sea Cadets is for you. Full training is given through multi-activity adult training weekends.

No previous experience is required, just someone with a little enthusiasm and wanting to volunteer with young people.  

What skills do I need?

  • Ability to work and interact with young people following a Royal Navy Theme training programme.
  • Enhanced DBS (this will be provided by the organisation)
  • Good communication skills, specifically with young people
  • Previous RYA Qualifications (not necessary, as you would be able to apply to go away on RYA courses).

Availability Details

The unit meets twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays. The expectation would be at least one night a week and the occasional weekend. During months of April – September, Wednesday evenings for boating.
