volunteering for Radio Frimley Park

Would you like to get involved with the running of a 24-hours-a-day radio service, which revolves around enhancing the patient experience at Frimley Park, Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospitals?

We are  on the lookout for volunteers to help us do this. The role a lot of people think of when thinking about radio is that of the DJ or presenter, but we need all sorts of other help as well - for instance gathering requests, getting involved at our outside events, assisting with studio engineering work, publicity, or even keeping on top of the admin.

Even if you're not sure whether this might be "up your street" and just want to know more to start with, do get in touch and let us know what your area of interest is, and why you'd like to be involved in hospital radio.

What skills do I need?

Lots of people, particularly presenter applicants, want to join because they think hospital radio is the first step on the ladder to a glittering radio career, and it's true that a number of very well known names in the radio industry have spent some time in hospital radio at the start of their careers. However, realistically we'd have to say that there are many more for whom this is not the case, than there are success stories. We are more interested in those that feel they can do something positive for the station, rather than hoping it can do something for them.
