Free Services from Google for UK Charities

Google offers UK registered charities a range of free services. Registering  your charity with Google will give you access to:

Google AdGrants (the non-profit version of AdWords) allowing you to target potential supporters using adverts on google search results pages. Using AdWords, you can advertise your charity for free up to a maximum value of $10 000 per month (all accounts are all costed in dollars). For small charities, this is an opportunity to develop your online presence using adverts to drive visitors to your site and make them aware of your organisation and your work. For larger charities, you can enhance your targeting of visitors to increase their relevance and help you achieve your goals.

G Suite – A package of integrated digital office tools similar to MS Office to coordinate your charity’s back office activities (email, calendar, spreadsheets, online storage etc)

To apply for these Google service you must have UK registered charitable status; be registered with HMRC as tax exempt and also registered with TechTrust:

Welcome pack for new trustees

If you are a new trustee you should understand your role and responsibilities and the Charity Commission has prepared a short guide to help you do that.

As a trustee, you will be able to use your skills and experience and have a direct influence over a cause you care about. It is a rewarding role, but there are responsibilities meaning you will need to give up enough time to help your charity succeed. The guide tells you what to expect in your first year and where you can get more detailed advice.  See the welcome pack for trustees on the Charity Commission website.
