What is Volunteering?

Volunteering involves spending time, unpaid, doing something that is of benefit to others or the environment. It’s not only good for your community it’s good for your mental wellbeing and physical health. Not matter what your skills are we can find a role for you. We have opportunities for you to volunteer during the day, in the evening and at weekends, giving as much or as little time as you can.

Why would you volunteer?

People choose to volunteer for a variety of reasons. For some it offers the chance to give something back to the community or make a difference to the people around them. For others it provides an opportunity to develop new skills, build on existing experience and knowledge or change your career direction. Whatever reason volunteering should be fun!

How do I get started?

Volunteers are the most important resource our community organisations have. The ability of people to work willingly together for the betterment of North Surrey is a hugely valuable resource.
