Surrey Coalition of Disabled People (SCoDP) (RB)
Could you spare a couple of hours a week to support others to Get More Active? Active Buddies is a project to support people with disabilities and long term health conditions to access physical activity. You will accompany your buddy to local activities and support them whilst there.
We are looking for enthusiastic, friendly and patient people who are able to offer support in a non-judgmental and encouraging manner. You should understand the benefits of being active, although you are certainly not expected to be an expert and you don't need to be super fit!
You must be at least 18 years old and have access to a phone and internet (volunteer expenses can be claimed for phone calls and pre-agreed mileage). You must also have the ability to travel to visit people at home or an agreed community setting.
