My Time for Young Carers exists solely to give young carers time to be carefree.

Club helpers are the very people to make this happen. Working with a paid youth worker, volunteers provide fun activities that meet the needs of young people between the ages of 7 and 16 such as games, sports, music, dance, arts and crafts are all included in the programme.

Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own skills and interests to the project for the benefit of the members.

This is an ideal opportunity for students who want a career in teaching, youth or social work, medicine etc.

What skills do I need?

A fun and friendly character is essential.

Although experience of working with children is not necessary, a sense of fun and being able to listen and communicate well with young people are both vital.

An interest in sport, creative arts and activities that would appeal to young people would be really useful.
