Downlands Partnership is pleased to welcome corporate employee volunteer teams for practical conservation volunteering sessions across NE Surrey.

Key countryside sites in the Reigate & Banstead area are in: Banstead, Chipstead, Nork, Hooley and Merstham. We also work in Earslwood in the spring/summer only.

We offer a wide range of enjoyable practical environmental volunteering tasks, helping us to manage, maintain and restore Surrey's glorious countryside: invasive species clearing/ragwort and balsam pulling (spring/summer): access improvements and species monitoring (spring/summer); scrub clearing and coppicing (autumn/winter). Ragwort pulling and scrub clearance are ideal tasks for groups and for those new to conservation volunteering.

Smaller groups (up to 6) are welcome to join in with the  majority of scheduled task programme dates (Tues/Wed/Thur) and ideally on Weds/Thurs.

For larger groups, suitable tasks need to be discussed with the Downlands Partnership team in advance and a small financial contribution/donation is usually required to support the task leadership costs, based upon group size.

The best season for large groups to get involved in is during autumn/winter.

We provide tea/coffee, biscuits, all tools and all necessary training/guidance and you will be covered under our Surrey County Council insurance.  Volunteer teams will need to bring their own lunch.

What skills do I need?

These task sessions are ideal as a one-off or regular/annual activity, suitable for teams of any size and new corporate partnerships are always very welcome.
