Volunteer Coordinator – Sailing Sessions & Accessible Day Trips

Make a real difference – help bring the joy of sailing to disabled people!

We're looking for a friendly, organised volunteer to help coordinate our rota of sailors and volunteers for our monthly sailing sessions and accessible day trips.

From April to September, we run inclusive sailing opportunities for disabled people twice a month – one Wednesday and one Saturday – offering safe and fun experiences out on the water. We also organise 3 group day trips per year aboard a fully accessible catamaran departing from Portsmouth, giving small groups of up to 8 participants an unforgettable day at sea.

As our Volunteer Coordinator, you’ll play a key role behind the scenes, helping everything run smoothly by:

• Managing and updating our small database of volunteers and disabled sailors
• Scheduling volunteers and matching them to sailing sessions based on availability
• Offering sailing slots to our disabled participants each month
• Booking our group day trips and sharing all the essential details with participants in advance
• Communicating clearly and warmly with volunteers, sailors, and families to confirm arrangements

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys planning, is comfortable with email and basic spreadsheets, and values inclusive community activity. You'll be well supported by our friendly team and make a direct impact on people’s lives.

What skills do I need?

No sailing experience is required. We need someone who is friendly, organised, able to use Gmail, with basic Word and Excel skills and access to their own computer.

There is already an effective system in place so full training and support will be given.
