"Transform discarded bikes into sustainable transport – be part of Spelthorne's green mobility revolution!"

This initiative is a volunteer run bike project managed by Talking Tree, which promotes cycling as a means to enhance both environmental sustainability and personal fitness.  Participants collaborate within a small team to repair and sell bicycles, utilising the facilities available at Talking Tree.

Currently there are two experienced bike mechanics who provide technical knowledge and expertise on fixing bikes but we are looking to expand the team and the number of bikes we repair and redistribute to the community. Subject to funding, training in bike maintenance may be available once volunteers complete the trial period.

Join our community bike workshop where we:

  • Rescue and refurbish donated bicycles
  • Provide affordable transport options
  • Teach valuable repair skills
  • Keep bikes out of landfills

Key Responsibilities:

✓ Assessing and repairing donated bikes
✓ Training new volunteers in basic mechanics
✓ Preparing bikes for low-cost community sale
✓ Supporting bike donation initiatives

Location & Schedule:

• Based at Stanwell Moor Village Hall
• Sessions run for 3 hours, currently scheduled on Wednesday afternoons
