Charity Shop Volunteer Redhill

We’re excited to be opening our very first RSPCA Surrey East’s Charity Shop in Redhill, and we’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help make it a success. Volunteering as a shop assistant is a rewarding way to support animal welfare in your local community while meeting new people, gaining valuable retail experience, and becoming part of a friendly and dedicated team.

Whether you can spare a few hours a week or more, your time can make a real difference. Our volunteers help with welcoming customers, sorting donations, creating attractive displays, and keeping the shop running smoothly. Every item sold helps raise vital funds to support the RSPCA’s work rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals in need. If you’d like to give back to your community and be part of something new and exciting in Redhill, we’d love to hear from you.

Volunteer Charity Shop Assistant responsibilities may include:

● Helping customers in the shop find what they need.

● Accepting donations of items and money from the public.

● Processing sales through the till and card machine, including Gift Aid.

● Sorting through donated items to determine what we can sell.

● Preparing donated items for sale by checking them, steaming and hanging items.

● Merchandising stock on the shop floor.

● Ensuring the shop is clean and tidy.

What skills do I need?

• No formal qualifications are required.
• Volunteers should be friendly and confident talking to people.
• Retail experience ideal, but not necessary as full training provided.
• Good communication and literacy skills.
