About eeCAN eeCAN develops and delivers local projects that support nature, encourage climate-friendly living, and helps our community take practical steps to reduce climate impact. We work with residents, volunteers, and partner organisations to protect and enhance our local environment.

The "Living Rivers" community art exhibition ran successfully in the Ebbisham Centre (Epsom Square) ibn April/May 2026 and we need to now start building from that to deliver our 2027 Art Exhibition which will again be open to all local art groups and schools.

The exhibition was opened by the Mayor on 22/4/26 "Earth day" and we had over 500 participants whose art work was on display in the Ebbisham Centre for a month to give everyone lots of opportunity to visit the exhibition. This period also included national "Save the Frog day" on 28/4/26 and "Thames River Watch" week from Saturday 25/4 to Friday 1/5 when we worked with partners to run appropriate educational activities and provided information in support of our 2026 theme of "Living Rivers".

For our 2027 exhibition we would like as many local artists and schools involved as possible and will be offering the opportunity for them to exhibit their interpretation of "2027 'Water Water Everywhere" theme.

This will be an annual event so we are looking for volunteers to continue the work of liaising with and encouraging local art groups to chose the annual "nature and climate theme"; Developing relevant information boards to support the theme; helping put up the exhibits and remove them at the end of the exhibition; and evaluating what went well with all groups that participated.

What skills do I need?

An interest art would be an asset as well as experience of putting on art exhibitions would be useful but you would also; Liaising with our Nature Volunteers to organise activities;  Work with our communication lead on publicity; ; Liaising with art groups who wish to visit the exhibition ; and maybe offering to steward groups when they chose to visit if the time suits you.
