Garden Maintenance

The Hospital in Dorking has a well-established garden, Supported by voluntary work via hospital staff and pupils from The Priory school. It is a centrally placed area in the hospital with seating, shelters and features ( such as a small globe fountain). Students from the school have been helping with weekly guided support and provided paintings to add to the features. 

The Role:

• The hospital friends are looking for an individual who would welcome taking on overall responsibility for the garden area. This includes maintenance work and ideas for development. 
• The volunteer can also suggest others (such as school students) who could assist. Such volunteers may need hospital clearance as well as from the Friends. 
• Take a proactive role in the future development of the garden. In the past we have used The Men's Shed to assist with practical support as well as the school.
• Assist the friends the friends in special events in the garden. For example our annual strawberry tea. 

What skills do I need?

• An enthusiam for Gardening. 
• An interest in the future of the Dorking hospital garden.
• Being able to coordinate the groups supporting the garden.
