Lead the Adventure – Volunteer with Bagshot Scouts!

Do you believe in giving young people the skills they need for life? Whether you have a few hours a week or just an occasional evening, Bagshot Scout Group is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join us as Scout Leaders and Assistant Leaders.

We offer fun, challenge, and everyday adventure to both girls and boys – and volunteering with Scouts is just as rewarding for adults. It’s a brilliant way to build friendships, develop new skills, and give back to your local community, all while having a great time.

What’s involved:

  • Supporting or leading weekly sessions for children and young people (aged 6–18, depending on the section)

  • Helping plan and run activities such as games, outdoor challenges, crafts, and camps

  • Encouraging confidence, teamwork, and leadership in young people

  • Taking part in group events, trips, and community projects

You can give as much or as little time as you like. Some people help out weekly, while others support monthly or just at events. We’ll help you find a volunteering pattern that works around your family, work or studies.

What skills do I need?

Why volunteer with Scouts?

This is more than just giving your time – it's a chance to grow too:

  • Use your skills or learn new ones – from leadership and team-building to first aid and outdoor survival

  • Gain recognised qualifications – training and support is provided for all roles

  • Boost your CV – volunteering with Scouts shows responsibility, communication, and adaptability

  • Meet new people – join a welcoming, supportive group of adults

  • Make a real difference – help shape the future of young people in your community

Whether you're confident outdoors, good at organising, or just great with people, there's a place for you on our team. Full training, support, and resources are provided – no experience necessary.
