LINK Porter Trust (LPT) is a charity providing help for anyone in need who lives in the RH8 (Oxted) postal area. It is part of Oxted & District LINK Association.  LPT makes grants to RH8 residents who are facing short term financial problems or crisis.

The aim of this charity is to be able to provide grants for specific purposes to individual residents to help them to get back on their feet.

The charity has been able to help with household equipment, school uniform and equipment, food bank vouchers and short-term help with bills.

The role

This interesting and unique role will involve liaising with applicants by telephone and by visit.

You'll be collating the information gathered to write up an objective assessment report (case study) to be presented to the Trustees for approval.

You will visit applicants and take a financial statement to support their application so some benefits knowledge would be helpful, although not essential.

Referrals may come from other agencies such as Citizens Advice, Oxted Health Centre, local schools or social workers. On occasions a person will self refer.

Referrals can vary from two per week to two per month.

Training will be given.

Enhanced DBS check is needed for this role. No cost to volunteer.

The role is from home and visiting potential clients in their homes.
