Be the Friendly Face of Fixing – Greeter Volunteers Needed!

Do you enjoy meeting new people and being at the heart of a buzzing community event? Join the Camberley Repair Café team as a Greeter and help welcome visitors while supporting local sustainability.

The Repair Café runs monthly and provides free repairs for broken household items – from toasters and toys to bikes and clothing. As a Greeter (or Front Desk/‘Floater’), you'll play a key role in helping the day run smoothly.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Welcome and check in visitors and their broken items

  • Record key information about the item and its repair journey

  • Liaise between repairers and visitors, particularly if there’s a queue

  • Chat to guests, manage flow, and keep the atmosphere friendly and relaxed

  • Help maintain a calm and organised reception area

You’ll work as part of a supportive team at a well-loved community event, typically held one Saturday per month.

What skills do I need?

This role suits someone who is people-oriented, proactive, and able to think on their feet in a lively environment. You’ll bring or develop:

  • Confidence speaking to people from all walks of life

  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills

  • A calm and friendly approach, even during busy periods

  • Team spirit and willingness to pitch in

  • Basic record-keeping and coordination abilities

Full support and guidance will be provided – just bring your friendly energy and enthusiasm!
