IT Tutor - Make Technology Work (CSVA)

We are looking for a volunteer with IT skills to support members of our 'Make Technology Work' sessions.

This role allows you to use your interest in technology to support individuals with their digital access. We are looking for people with a good understanding of how to use computer to give peer support to people.

  You will help them to do things like:

• Teaching someone to use Google
• Helping someone set up an email account

• Teaching them how to use Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel & Powerpoint
• Setting someone up on Skype
  

 It will be giving support to the client's with what they want to learn and not structured training, however if there was a demand for particular training the volunteer is welcome to run a structured course

What skills do I need?

• Confident in the use of computers, tablets, smart phones and the internet but not necessarily an expert.
• Good people skills e.g. friendly, helpful and with a good sense of humour and clear communication.
• Patient with first time technology users who may lack confidence.
