Opportunity for volunteers to become a receptionist and admin support worker with the local office of the Citizens Advice service. Reception is a most valuable part of the advice session and provides the first point of contact with the service for many people. This key role helps ensure the smooth running and organisation of the bureau.

Volunteers must be over 18. No previous reception experience is required, but a commitment to the aims and principles of the CAB service and it's equal opportunities policies is needed.

The receptionist tasks include:

  • Welcoming all clients and other visitors to the office.
  • Managing client expectations and provide clients with our client information form to complete.
  • Input information from the client form onto our database.
  • Operating the reception area, liaising between clients and advisers.
  • Monitoring client numbers and waiting times. Filling. Print and scan documents. Help with the day to day running of the Citizens Advice service.

The bureau is positioned in the Swan Centre in Leatherhead alongside the British Heart foundation shop.
