Dorking Good Neighbours (CSVA)
Dorking Good Neighbours are a group of volunteer drivers who take people, unable to get about by themselves, to their medical appointments. The drives are co-ordinated by a group of transport organisers, of whom you would be one.
Working from their homes, the transport organisers take it in turns (around 6 times a year in weekly periods), to hold the mobile phone, taking calls from passengers and then arranging a driver to take them to their appointment.
The mobile phone can be left on voicemail when it is inconvenient to take calls, so you do not need to be available the whole time during your week, provided you call passengers back with 24 hours. You use the mobile phone to make calls, so no costs are incurred.
It is a worthwhile job as our clients are very appreciative of our services.
A patient and considerate telephone manner and some knowledge of the Dorking area.
