Volunteer Driver (CSVA)

Dorking Good Neighbours include a number of drivers who take, mainly elderly local residents who have difficulty getting to their medical appointments. 

We are looking to increase the number of Volunteer Drivers we have. 

Volunteer Drivers are offered the opportunity to take and return a passanger to their medical appointment and can choose when and how often they drive - typically once a week. There is no obligation to accept a drive or be available at any particular time each week. 

Ideally Drivers would need to live locally to  the Dorking area to be able to access local passengers. 

Most drives are to GP surgeries, Dentists, Opticians and to Dorking Hospital. We also drive to East Surrey, Epsom, Crawley, Royal Marsden, St Helier and Guildford hospitals when needed but not to London hospitals. 

Milage and Parking expenses are reimbursed. 

This is a worthwhile and appreciated volunteer role and makes an otherwise difficult journey much easier for our residents. 

What skills do I need?

Dorking area resident with own car.

A good, reliable and careful driver who is patient and understanding.

A friendly and helpful manner.
